Additional Info
White Elephant Aspen is a new 54-room luxury boutique hotel in Aspen’s West End, designed by Boston-based EMBARC with a sophisticated contemporary alpine aesthetic. Central to the project is an extensive collection of more than 125 original artworks, curated by White Elephant Resorts’ longtime art advisor Emily Santangelo, and integrated throughout the guestrooms, suites and public spaces.
The collection combines established and emerging contemporary artists, including Alex Katz, Ian Davenport, Orit Fuchs, Robert Peterson, Bob Tabor and Joe Whale (Doodle Boy), alongside approximately 50 works selected through a partnership with Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Site-specific commissions and playful works inspired by Aspen and mountain culture complement paintings, photography, prints and mixed-media pieces, creating a residential, collector-driven atmosphere rather than a conventional hotel art program.
The result is an art-forward hospitality experience in which the collection is a defining element of the property, connecting White Elephant’s established visual identity with Aspen’s longstanding arts community and cultural heritage.
